MISSION STATEMENT, VISION STATEMENT, AND VISION FOR THE FUTURE OF LEANING

Mission

As an educational leader, I serve a community that is 95% Hispanic and 85% fall under the poverty level. My experience in education has developed my passion for equity and social justice. In my current role as an elementary school principal, I work towards educating the whole child which includes mental health supports, and emphasis on academic development, cognitive development, physical health, social-emotional development, and family engagement.  I provide supports for students that will generate academic and social-emotional growth.

Vision

As an educational leader, my goal is to work with public, private, and charter schools to create programs that focus on equity and social justice. Developing programs that support both school administrators and teachers will create safe learning environments for students that promote engagement and learning. I envision a society where students have the supports needed and teachers understand that equal is not always fair. Where educators can see children’s differences and develop individualized support. And where the learning gap is closed and all students have the same possibilities.

Vision for the future of learning

The future of learning seems dark for some, but I disagree. Education is ever developing and is now going through a much needed change. This is the perfect opportunity to develop innovative ways of learning and not think inside a box. Because there is no box. I envision education to become more global and schools not necessarily being brick and mortar. Students will be able to learn and connect with students from around the world. Students will be able to connect with students in other countries more easily and a global mindset will increase. Global thinking will unite countries and cultures and increase acceptance and understanding.
